Dunno if this is more suited here or the Public Bar.. But anyway. Where have you traveled by rail in Australia? Brag about it here.
I'll start off with where I have traveled - embarrassing, I know.
VICTORIA:
All Melbourne suburban lines. Minus one tunnel in the CBD, which I don't give a fuck about
All of the V/Line interurban lines (Bendigo-Eaglehawk, Geelong-Marshall, Ballarat, Seymour & Traralgon)
V/Line intercity trains to Warrnambool, Bairnsdale, Swan Hill, Albury and Echuca.
Overland to Adel and return
XPT up to Campbelltown
Albion-Jacana BG line (had the opportunity to ride Sunshine-Newport but had to decline)
NEW SOUTH WALES:
All of the Sydney suburban lines - including the Y-link and Olympic Park direct.
All of the electrified interurban lines - that's Newcastle, Lithgow, Kiama, Port Kembla. All on V sets.
Hunter line from Newcastle to Telarah
Xploder to Canberra, XPT to Melbourne
SOUTH AUSTRALIA:
All TransAdelaide lines - even the stupid ones like Tonsley. Riden both poxboxes and Jumbos to Gawler, Noarlunga and Belair.
Overland from Melb and back to Melb
OVERSEAS:
When I was quite a lot younger. Can't be bothered listing 'em.
By the end of the year I should have added some rides in WA, QLD and NT to that list.

Good topic. For me:
NSW
Entire suburban network EXCEPT Homebush-North Stratty, South Meeks Road, Botany line, Merrylands-Harris Park.
Royal National Park and Sandown before pax services suspended
North to Murwhillumbah, Qld Border, Scone, Newcastle
West to Dubbo
South to Albury and Griffith
South Coast to Port Kemble, Bomaderry and Moss Vale, also Unanderra-Lysaghts.
Vic
Spencer Street (back then) to Albury
City loop
Flinders St - Belgrave
Belgrave - Lakeside
Are we including trams? If so, just around the city and to St Kilda
Qld
Nambour-Roma St
Robina-Domestic Airport
Roma St-NSW border
SA
Victoria Square - Glenelg
OS
Auckland-Wellington _________________ It's Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees - Oils.

This is a real good topic, makes me think a tad too hard for before 0700 though!
SA:
Adelaide-Belair (when the Redhens run the rails)
Adelaide-Elizabeth
Adelaide-Riverton (behind 520)
Adelaide-Melbourne (in the BG days behind N class)
Quorn-Woolshed Flat (WAGR W933 for memory...)
Tram ride City to Morhett Road
NT:
Alice Springs-Adelaide
The "Old Ghan" NG tourist train twice (DH14 and NSU58)
WA:
Perth-Adelaide (NR39 was the loco all the way)
VIC:
Melbourne-Frankston
Melbourne-Aircraft
Melbourne-Macaulay (spelling?)
Melbourne-Geelong
Melbourne-Adelaide (BG Overland)
Melbourne-Albury (both XPT & BG services)
Melbourne-Seymour (it was in 1992 and the K class steamer run into a spot of bother with a jammed cylinder, pushed back to Melbourne by X40 and its consist)
Tram trips around Melbourne City
NSW:
Somewhere in the 'burbs into Central in a silver set of double decker carriages...
A ride on the tram from Star City Casino to Central
QLD:
Kuranda tourist train, couple of 1720s at the sharp end.
Besides that, fuck all really.

Not actually that much, when I think about it...
NSW
All Sydney metro passenger lines except Carlingford (must get around to that), metro goods, homebush - Nth Strathfield. Main South to Melbourne, West to Orange, and Short North. And down da 'gong, of course.
VIC
In from the NSW border. Several lines I forget, but in close to the CBD. Longer journeys on the Belgrave and Werribee lines.
QLD
A short hop in the city - about two stops, I think - just to say I'd been on a Queensland train.
Hong Kong
All over the joint on the MTR (but it was smaller then) including the Airport Line. Also took a run out to the border on the KCR.
I've also been on the Royal National Park line in Sydney, and the Port Melbourne and St Kilda ones in Melbourne, but by uh... tram. _________________ The idiot who, in railway carriages,

This could take a while:
South Australia
Metro:
Surprisingly not all of the metro lines - never been on the Grange branch or beyond Port Adelaide and only been to Gawler on specials or country pass.
Regular trains:
Adelaide to Peterborough - last regular pass (Bluebird)
Adelaide to Port Augusta - Whyalla pass (Budd)
Adelaide to Watson (Tea & Sugar)
Specials:
Adelaide to Roberstown (800 class)
Adelaide to Burra (830 class)
Adelaide to Angaston (X class)
Adelaide to Port Augusta (CLP)
Adelaide to Gladstone (GM/22)
Adelaide to Victor Harbor (520/Rx)
Adelaide to Cambrai (Bluebird)
Adelaide to Broken Hill (Bluebird)
Penfield branch (Rx)
Interstate Trains
Overland
Intercapital Daylight (Campbelltown to Melbourne)
Sydney Express
Melbourne Express
Ghan (not beyond Alice Springs)
Indian Pacific (Adelaide to Sydney)
AK cars (Kalgoorlie to Port Augusta)
More to come.

In Noo Souf:
Morrisset-Sydney on V sets twice (1980's and 1999) and Sydney-Wyong by V set.M
We changed at Wyong as the V set clapped out and got on a 620-class railmotor with my dad and his mates in the 1980's.
Zig Zag four times, the last three times were cabrides
Sydney-Melbourne by overnight Slug - stopped at Moss Vale for 25 minutes when the cops came and took some bloke who tried to punch the conductor out for stopping him smoking a bong on the train. His mates occupied the toilets and passed out.
Souf Aus:
Melbourne-Adelaide via Overdue three times. Once on BG via Ballarat and Ararat with N457 in 1994, crossing BL-700-930 at Buangor, fucking magnificent until I ate the catering, got the shits. Once on SG with CLP16 in 1997, uneventful but the cars were definitely worn out. Once with BL29 in SteelLink and an NR (I think NR90) back in 2000. There were a party of strippers in the next car.
Keswick-Adelaide-Gawler and Dry Creek-Adelaide-Keswick with a 3000-class in 1997, think I went to somewhere on the Noarlunga line, and on that busway as well.
Keswick-Kalgoorlie with CLP9-CLP16 same time in 1997 (CLP9 dropped off at Pt. Disgusting) on a former BD sitter, there was a Budd car or Bluebird trailer as the next vehicle. It was more rooted than the BJ I had.
Pichi Richi to the Saltbush Flat in the Coffee Pot on its last run before a long overhaul in 1992
West Aus:
The Boulder Loop line.
Victoria:
All suburban locations including Port Melbourne as a wee kid and Flemington Racecourse.
Stony Point twice (X38 once, H2 the other time)
Seymour repeatedly,
Geelong in a pass and about four tours,
Redan line in a DRC and Ballarat in 1987 in an aircon BE,
Traralgon twice (once behind R707 and once with G532 and 17BE)
Maryvale behind Y143 on the same trip,
Ballarat-Marybugger-Avoca-Ararat-Melbourne on the last BG tour with R707
Warragul in a swingdoor
Bendigo in a DERM and in a Velocity and N set
Tocumwal three times

Bugger work for a minute, why can't we be paid to do this sort of shite?
My travels, I've just noticed, are almost completely limited to NSW within Australia.
NSW
Most of Sydney Metro except Carlingford line and Richmond line. Unbelievable considering I live about 10 minutes from Carlingford.
Gold Coast Motorail to Murwillumbah, North Coast Mail to Coffs Harbour (that was our equivalent of Schoolies Week back then!)
Northern Tablelands Express (RUB, HUB, DUB or some farken rail motor type thing) to Glen Innes on Main North - if only we'd gone on to Tenterfield!!
IP to Broken Hill returning on Silver City Comet and Western Mail from Parkes.
Spirit of Progress (or Slowness as we called it) to Albury.
Riverina Express to Cootamundra, CPH Rail Motor to Tumut.
Bomaderry to Sydney on some diesel hauled beast back in the 80s.
Newcastle on V-sets.
Moree on North West Mail and Narrabri later on Explorer.
Zig Zag railway.
Cooma to Chakola on CPH with the CMR tourist railway (wish I'd done the Cooma Mail!!)
So many now closed lines I never went on and regret. Some would envy the ones I have done I guess that are no more.
QLD
Cannon Hill to city, Airport to city.
Kuranda tourist train.
Vic
Some suburban train a million years ago. Think it was green.
That's it I think.
Europe
Exhausted two Eurail passes there years ago. Too many to list. Went on TGV in France. Barcelona had best metro then. Greece had shittiest trains. Train on a ship on the way to Copenhagen was a highlight! Endless tunnels in Switzerland too. A steam trip in Scotland - Kingussie to Aviemore IIRC. Rack railway in Austria.
SE Asia
Singapore to Kuala Lumpur - coldest A/C in the world!
Japan
Some local trains out of Fukuoka. Fukuoka to Tokyo on Shinkansen! All paid for by work!
Tokyo metro.
North America
Bugger all really except for the Vancouver Skytrain.
Africa
Cairo to Aswan in first class - you'd die in 3rd class!
Kampala to Kasese in Uganda - train derailed, this is quite a story that I might relate another time.
Dar es Salaam to Mbeya on the TAZARA (Chinese built) line Tanzania.
Local trains in Capetown South Africa.
Jeez now I sound like a complete wanker!

Could take a while. Maybe just note the ones I liked. Nah, try to remember most.
NSW
Gunnedah to Gosford (I don't remember much. Was only an ankle biter)
Gosford to Sydney Central, quite a few times. Before they had electrics.
Gosford to Newcastle. Remember that one because we were in a dog box.
Sydney to Albury, Riverina. 38 and RUB
Tumut to Singleton. Cadet camps. R car to Sydney then open enders to the Hunter.
Tumut to Liverpool. Same
Casino to Sydney to Melbourne. Joined RAAF. Forget if we changed at Albury. Pissed by then. 1963 should have been straight through on SG I think.
Sydney to Casino. Got some luxury for myself. TAM sleeper.
Sydney Central to Parkes. CWE I think. Parkes to Peak Hill goods guards van. Mid 1960s before they had all this safety shit.
Marulan to Central. End of R&R from the Nam.
Broadmeadow to Brisbane. XPT
International to Newcastle (Change at Central) Recent years Interurban.
Central to Thirlmere. Almost hesitate to include that - behind the green dildo. Off the flight from Jakarta, electric Airport to Central then changed to tour train to RTM.
Campbelltown to Canberra. Exploder.
Some suburban lines. Not many.
Qld
Ipswich to Central
Airport to Robina
Vic
A few suburban lines.
Flinders St to Sale
Spencer St to Albury, but only to get a train onwards.
SA
Salisbury to WRE. Red Hen to work.
Steam Ranger tour to the South.
Pichy Richi railway.
Over seas
Grantham to London. Did that a few times. Beats tryng to find somewhere to park.
Grantham to Scotland. My memory is getting too bad. Changed at Edinburgh and got sort of rail motor they call DMU to this place up north near the RAF Nimrod base.
Sleaford to Lincoln. Local trip.
Bloody names too hard, but a narrow gauge track in Wales. Tourist trip.
Jakarta to Surabaya.
Jakarta to Jogjakarta.
Jakarta to Bandung.
Jakarta to Semarang.
Medan to Rantauprapat.
Singapore MRT.
KL airport terminal transfer (does that count?)
KL airport to KL city.
Amsterdam (Schipol Airport) to Hannover.
Hannover local trains.
Ultrecht to Alphen aan den Rijn
Den Haag to Leiden.
Amsterdam Central to Schipol.
Probably some more I'll think of later. The States and Canada. Where did I get on a train over there? Some good memories amongst these. Over 50 years worth. Used up my lunch time compiling that list. _________________ Argus Tuft

Adelaide Metro, just about everywhere including the Hendon and Finsbury branches.
SA country again just about everywhere you could go. Ridden everything from 55 railcars to 3000 class, have driven Redhens, Bluebirds, Jumbo's and 3000/3100 class railcars on mainlines, decades back though, and never have been a qualified driver.
Interstate
Overland (Broad gauge only).
Intercapital Daylight (worst trip ever)Sydney to Melbourne
Indian Pacific( Peterborough to Sydney)
Melbourne metro various lines and trams.
Sydney around the underground,Central to Circular Quay and back to Central. (Noisest trip ever). _________________ Do the letter's F.O. mean anything to you Sheriff!
