Fuuuucking hell.

Ok. It all started with the Gawler line timetable, this new timetable completely eliminated some special services on the Gawler Railway line.

Now they are changing the Outer Harbor and Grange timetables. TA says it's to improve on-time running. Others say it's just to revamp the layout.

Now, I love our current timetables.

These new ones are shit.

Their layout is harder to read and it looks as if it takes more space when unfolded.

If nothing changes in the new OH and G timetables, I'll stick to the old ones.

Typical TA.

Agreed, although I like the mini-connecting services maps on 'em.

But they have to change the timetable pigeon holes at Adelaide Station.

The new timetables are longer, they overshadow all the timetable labels that help you identify what timetable to take.... So you have to shuffle through all the bloody things until you find the one you're looking for.

I preferred the old style of printed timetables, but the 15 minute off-peak service introduced to the Gawler Central Line is a good thing, not a bad thing Wink

Yeah, the new timetables are fucked, really fucked.
Apparently they claim they are a new easier format. What a load a bullshit

They seem fine to me ... no problems working them out.

Use Nomad if you can - I reckon it's fucking brilliant.

I agree with simont141, just takes a little bit of getting used to that's all. The only thing that shits me about the timetables are the bloody maps which are as useful as a pair of tits on a bull! I thought the old maps photocopied from UBD street directories were bad (and the Outer Harbour line timetables have taken shittiness to a new level)!

Other then that, they are fine to me.

So you're all arguing over timetables?

For the love of The Hedgehog , go outside and get to the nearest pub.

Why does North Adelaide get fuck all services? One would think the people of North Adelaide would like a regular service during offpeak times...

It gets a few trains timed for the Clipsal workers. Nothing at all on weekends.

Is there really that much near it? The actual suburb of North Adelaide is up a hill and not convenient to it, and it's within walking distance of Bowden. I'd say that the only use of it would be for Bowden people heading toward Gawler.

Love how the Adelaide UBD has it marked as "disused"!

Well google maps doesn't even list it as a station - whilst Bowden and Ovingham are listed there. Yeah I just noticed how close it is to Bowden and Clipsal - its not very convinient for the North Adel people at all.

I was initially curious because I had a discussion with someone about a tramline extension to North Adelaide and they said "oh no no they dont need it they have a regular train service" - regular, my arse!

I wonder what the fate of North Adelaide will be in a few years...

All those that live at North Adelaide don't need a train service, they just crank up their Roll's Royce and drive everywhere or get driven there. Shit-eating grin

There was fanciful talk some years ago about turning the station into a platform restaurant. I believe OH&S shot that in the foot.

My honest opinion, is like all disused railway infrastructure in the metro area (assuming it doesn't have a relay room), it will become a home for squatters and the destitute, before being burnt to the ground.

A shame, because it would make a damn fine art gallery or golf shop.

Well, why don't we do something about it. If NADL does close, we should campaign to use the building for something preservation related, perhaps?
