| Dang! Looks like I won't be seeing any choo choos pass here for a while! It's either Lithgow to see some narrow gauge ones, or Parkes to see a real steam train in action when they come in October.

Did I hear Narrow Gauge??
Sitting waiting to depart only to find this mobile incinerator was the culprit.
Fancy that, a perfectly on time freight delayed to let the rock burner pass.
I admit the pics not a good one as It surprised me as I didnt know it was coming! _________________ What you say here stays here!.

Think it's got alot to do with the ITSRR issues with 3830 as well...seems that when the shit hits the fan it doesn't just hit one group...!

I think some people may be reading a bit too much into a few cancellations. I'd say (and I'm only guessing, haven't checked) most of the cancellations are due to track work. If you care to look there are still a number of steam jobs listed on the Heritage Express web site, including with 3830. _________________ I'm a pitiful sight, and I ain't all that bright

Have to agree there. There is a mainline group* in Victoria which for some reason continually fuck-up nearly everytime they hit the main.
As a result, every other group cops the aftermath - everyone except this group, who happily go out on the main and do it all over again. I don't know if it's ignorance with a dollip of arrogance on behalf of this group; whether they're simply oblivious to all that surrounds them and are happy in their own little would aboard their train; or they expect everything to stop and let them through, and drop everything as they *think* they have a god-given right to be on the rails - perhaps it's a mix of all three.
I just hope that some of the newer people getting involved with this group will wake up to this and help to remedy these problems, so all groups can enjoy running trains down the mainline without various authorities breathing down their necks before and during the event.
*Name withdrawn to protect the guilty - although I am sure most people will know whom I refer to _________________ ALL HAIL HYPNO-TOAD!

Well, they wanted 3801 back (we all know why).....and now they have shit in their own nest. Had the 38'er stayed at Eveleigh, it probably would have its new boiler by now, as 01 Ltd had ploughed a lot of "their money", not taxpayers', into the new boiler project. I know quite a few loco people who don't bother working for them now....they did not need a dictionary to know the meaning of the word "LOYALITY". I know they are scratching for crews in the north. _________________ Same shit, different day !!!

God forbid NSW falls into a category equivalent to SA and WA when it comes to mainline steam tours. Sounds to me alot of the locomotives at all three depots (EveRleigh, Thrilmere and Cane-Berra) are either fucked, or getting fucked.
Any word on 5917 coming from Cowra? Or better still, The Yank at Lithgow?

I know they're cunts for pinching the green dildo, but money is getting a bit tighter and rail tours are an optional expenditure that are one of the first things to be opted out of.
I have no inside info but I suspect RTM and 3801 Ltd are both feeling the tighter money situation affect bookings. _________________ Argus Tuft

Luckily 01 Ltd still has commercial work to carry them through, and backup any expenses associated with tours, if need be. _________________ Same shit, different day !!!
