Aah, on a re-read, it's 409's thread. So it's his call, not yours.

Goolgarah, a couple of 3100 sets (and more specifically 3135/3136 and 3137/3138) have generally had cleaner windows then the rest of the fleet and have done so for some time. Noticed a particularly fogged up set at the back of the railcar depot earlier this morning but I didn't catch the numbers.

Oooh okay! I thought the fogging problem effected every 3000/3100 cars equally. Come to think of it I have seen some semi-fogged 3000's but that are overall in good nick so those must be the ones you're referring to, but I have also seen some with VERY clearn windows - you can see right through the train no probs, so I'm assuming those are the fixed up ones. I had a bit of a read on premier.sa.gov.au (id rather govt press releases than tiser tripe) and apparently there's gonna be a major refurb of 3000/3100's prior to electrification... Besides obvious things like paint jobs and seat covers (and windows), what else (if anything) would be in this big major huge refurb Mikey is banging on about?

This would be conversion of the whole fleet from 3+2 seating to 2+2 seating with the removal of a total of 10 - 12 seats (depending on the current seating arrangements, the various batches have different layouts). The fairly obvious aim of this is to try and increase standing room and there by increasing the total passenger carrying capacity of the current network with existing stock. When our extra 50 EMUs arrive, this will help the situation.

Just back on U-boats for two secs - I just watched The Matrix and during one of the last scenes at the subway station, there's a single level suburban train go through. These the U-boats? What about in the third Matrix?

The third one is filmed at St James station, but when I tried to find out where the subway scene in the first one is filmed, IMDB said it was at Rozelle station, which of course isn't even built yet Rodney Dangerfield Any ideas?

I reckon that the poxboxes will lose some of their character if the windows get replaced. So will TransAdelaide in general.

Otherwise, good riddance.

Trans Adelaide could never lose any character, they have never had any, ever! Shit-eating grin

Part of me hopes they screw up the window sealing. There was a time when an outer window seal was allowing copious amounts of water to pour between the two sheets of glass. Half the window space was filled water and it sloshed around like anything under accelleration, and it was bloody mesmerising!

I hope they add fish next time.

That could be fun. You could fill it half with coloured water, and half with differently coloured industrial alcohol, and you could have a cosmic wave machine, maaaaaan. Fucken Greenie Fucken Greenie Fucken Greenie

Some bastard is gonna kick our arses if we keep talking about our beloved U-boats, simont141. I havent seen the matrix but I think it was filmed at Museum... Museum has the marone/brown colourscheme and St James has the green colourscheme.

As for the fish in the poxboxes, that would be a good idea - maybe you could somehow print the TransAdelaide quotes on them if they are phased out by a new ticketing system. I would love to see the poxbox fish with confuscious quotes Shit-eating grin

Well, there's a wonderfully corrupt, biased, dishonest, and unprofessional board admin (that would be me, innit) who loves U boats more than just about anything else on rails, so as far as I am concerned you can talk about the things as much as you want. I'll just ban anybody who complains. Cool

That is fucking awesome Dog!! For that statement I will post a picture of our beloved U boat so that these bastards can admire what trains back in the good old days were like.

Actually, I think all of Adelaide's problems can be resolved by U-boats.

Ah fuck this is bullshit - I can't find any u-boat pics Sad

Well, here's its diesel relo anyway - Adeladians will understand him better anyways - Sparks just confuse them and make them angry, isn't that right - foamer1? Rolf Harris Shit-eating grin Shit-eating grin
