Tough new alcohol restrictions in New South Wales pubs and clubs from todayTEN-MINUTE "time outs" every hour where no alcohol is served are among a range of tough new restriction on the service of alcohol in pubs and clubs across NSW from today.
The laws, which will take place at 48 pubs and clubs, are aimed at reducing alcohol-related violence and anti-social behaviour at trouble spots in Sydney and around the state, The Daily Telegraph reported.
Under the new laws, lockouts are in place from 2am to 5am at 48 licenced venues, and pubs have been forced to stop serving alcohol 30 minutes before closing.
Other restrictions that will apply after midnight include drinks not served in glass, no shots and a limit of four alcoholic drinks per person at any one time. |
That's a fucking great idea Mr Bureaucrat that's never stepped foot in a pub in all his life. Let's put it to the test.
Bureaucrat, having never been in a pub before, walks in and spills someone beer during the ten minute 'time-out'. Let's see how long he can last before he gets the shit kicked out of him.
Bureaucrat: 'Sorry mate, let me buy you another one'.
Irritated Pub Drunk: 'You better.'
Bureaucrat: 'Pint of Tooheys old thanks love'
Bar waitress: 'Sorry, not til 10 past'
Angry Pub Drunk: 'Ahh, come on, this prick spilled my beer'
Bar Waitress: 'Sorry bloke, rules is rules'
Soon followed by the thud of bureaucrat hitting the floor and the tinkling sound of his teeth tumbling across the floor.
Best fucking idea, ever.

Easiest way to lose an election, get in between and aussie and their beer.
Easiest way to win an election, promise to drop tax on grog and allow more 24 hour pubs _________________ http://photobucket.com/VBAndy

So we all have to pay more for bottled drinks, what's that supposed to achieve? Just as easy to break a bottle over some cunts head as a glass. I'm getting sick of this anti-alcohol bullshit, most young people actually believe that it's safer to pop pills than drink. Tell 'em you're a drinker and prepare to be ostracized! _________________ Drivers are like mushrooms; Kept in the dark and fed shit!

Nah I reckon they mean serving in plastic cups. Everywhere I've been to that serves in plastic for some or other reason either pours beer from a tap in to them, or any glass bottled drink too.
And also, because of the tax on RTD's, it's cheaper to buy a bag of gunge or an E, than it is to buy a six pack.
This is like the whole obesity "epidemic" that apparently exists. Yet next to the article about how fat we are, we read about how every teenage girl is dangerously underweight because of "negative role models" such as actors, and even fucking toy dolls.
The media very much just reports whatever is negative, even if it contradicts anything else they've published. Occasionally you'll get the heart warming story about how something good happened, or they produce a picture of two kangaroos kissing, but apart from that it's just negative. Apparently that's what sells. _________________ Friends, Cunts, Romanrymen: Lend me your ears!

So what's new? Once upon a time there was 6 o'clock closing in order to get the men to go home to their loved ones. It became known as the "6 o'clock swill" whereby ALL drinkers guzzled down schooners at a great rate.
Alcohol it's part of our culture & needs to be controlled by the individual. If the individual is a dickhead, sort him/her out, not make (us) responsible people pay. _________________ Any club that wants me as a member, I don't want to join!! Groucho

The title reminds me of the scene in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" where Paul Newman tells Ted Cassidy that there are going to be some rules before they have a fight!
Ted Cassidy retort's "Rules in a fistfight"! _________________ Do the letter's F.O. mean anything to you Sheriff!

I honestly think the government has some kind of super secret squirrel underline cause for all the recent bans and enforcements. The blanket being improving the quality of pubs, reducing pub violence, drink driving etc etc etc. I reckon these namby pamby cunts just want to abolish as many pubs as they can to make room for more of the Yuppie la di fuckin da cafes and Chinese restaurants.
Hell between the smoking bans, tax hikes on booze, lock-outs, earlier last calls, emo fucktards swarming the place & pub bands also turning majorly homo-gayus... I haven't set foot in a pub for some 3 months.
It is so much cheaper, and much more enjoyable for me to stay home with mates or go to the mates. You split the price and quantity of a slab or two, smoke where ever you like, choose the music, choose the grub & most importantly...you choose the last call.
I can safely say unless theres a special occasion...my days of pub crawling are done and dusted, courtesy of one fuckin nanny government that sucked all that was wholesome and pure from the publican.
The whole scheme will back fire...people will drink more at home, end up driving to maccas pissed as a fart at 3 in the fuckin morning and park in someones loungeroom. Assault the guy whose wife they just demolished with their flying drunk mobile then proceed to urinate on public property and rape the neighbours pet lizard. Add the loss of revenue at pubs which will surely in the long run kill off most of the battlers & you have one very bad fucking idea.
For the sake of public safety, give us back our fuckin pubs! _________________ http://photobucket.com/VBAndy

Comeng301M, generally I keep the music down after 12am. A common courtesy I like to think my neighbours would also give me. Having said that, I live in a street full of 60+ and I've never heard loud music in this steet period
Once again back to this ridiculous serving in cups motion, this killed all sports for me, not just me pubs. I don't enjoy going to the footy, races or the V8's nearly as much as I used to because I feel like some form of castrated baby being forced to drink from a "big boys" fucking sippy cup! I remember getting home from the G one night and my son was drinking out of my beer glass...and I'd spent the night drinking from fucking plastic "I'm mentally retarded and cannot be trusted with glass" fucking cups!
Now I don't blame the guvinment entirely for this one...as Jibbonpoint said its the fuckwit kiddies and old codger joe who can't hold his liqour and decided to throw a bottle at some bloke that fucked that one up.
I'm all for justice to idiots that fuck up and their mothers should have got the coat hanger...but since when was it okay to punish everyone for others mistakes? What happened to accountablitiy?
The minute the nannies came in and made every workplace, public place and private place safe was when this country...this state and every neighbourhood went down the fuckin drain.
No-one rolls the forklifts at work anymore, so Fuckhead breeds with Mrs. Fuckhead and pops out 15 other Fuckheads, Fuckhead child 3 meets daughter 2 to Mr. & Mrs. Goontwat, breeds 3 Fucktwats and the cycle repeats.
Enforcing nanny rules killed off the natural weeding process, killed pubs, sports, even our hobby is circiling the toilet bowl.
I honestly feel sorry for my little bloke, the rate we're going all he'll know of pubs and glass stubbies will be through stories the old man here tells him. Of a time when not everything was covered in bubble wrap, made of plastic and coated with sugar. _________________ http://photobucket.com/VBAndy

While I completely agree with your entire post, this paragraph made me chuckle. Thanks _________________ Insert generic signature line here.
