For "new" types what about the couple they got from Africa somewhere for the tourist railway in NQ? They are towards the back of the current edition of Leon Oberg's book.

I can understand your perseved frustration at the squabble, but I think Berriman does the cause no good with his continual veiled slagging of 01 Ltd in his column..............
I also noticed in a recent Roundhouse that they've taken a subtle stab at Lachlan Valley Railway for delaying their June long weekend trip. That's pretty rich, considering a mate aboard that train tells me that their train (With the P and 59 Class) refuged immediately in Harden Yard 40 minutes in ahead of the RTM special.

Whoever wrote that account needs to get their head out of their arse, and stop thinking that their train has Pope-given powers on the network. And that's directed only on the individual who wrote that account, and not on the RTM membership.

My sentiments exactly.....only a few dickheads stirring it up and wonder why some react. I would have thought a President of any organisation would have enough nouse to try and be professional....sadly, in this case it's not.
I also know of a couple of loud mouths even slagging off drivers of "rival" trains. And to top it off, giving the TO's at Strathfield a serve as well.

I believe there are some worried people out there at the moment....

Not one of your better posts Greg. Shame you obviously didn't see the effort on the Saturday then. 3642 on her own to Woolongong with 6 cars. Shit loads late on the down on account of a shunters fuck up, 15 late departure from the 'gong on the up, then on time arrival at Central. So much for not trusting it.

More cancelled tours....resignations from The Board....long time employee getting the heaveho....other longtime workers relinguishing duties....now only caretakers of ORH's assets.......what the fuck's going on?

Seems like Railcorp has had a gutfull of their little boys club attitude and want the joint run properly not by a clique of insiders.

Subject: FW: GREAT NEWS!!!!!

The Office of Rail Heritage today announced that, subject to final funding approval, the Large Erecting Shop at Eveleigh would be retained by RailCorp and not handed over to the Redfern-Waterloo Authority for redevelopment.
The core heritage electric train fleet, including the single deck F1 set, the power-operated doors set W3 and the single deck inter-urban set U2, as well as the 1929 parcel van (brake test car) would be relocated to the Large Erecting Shop by June next year, sharing same with 3801 Limited. Three non-core electric cars have been disposed of to the Sydney Electric Train Society, viz. modified Bradfield car C.3082, C3104 and C3444 - all are being located to off-rail storage.

On Thursday, 11/12, Powerhouse Museum's crane locomotive 1082 was moved by road from the Large Erecting Shop at Eveleigh to the Museum's storage location at Castle Hill, being unloaded there this morning.

Also on Thursday 11/12, the remains of locomotive 1308 were loaded on to road transport at Thirlmere and transferred to Valley Heights Roundhouse Heritage Museum for the NSW Steam Tram and Railway Preservation Society. This locomotive had previously been on loan to the Society at Parramatta Park and was half way through a major overhaul until the fire there stopped all work, with the stripped locomotive being moved to Thirlmere for temporary storage. It was unloaded at its new home this morning.

Very good to hear about 1308, something is finally to be done witgh this 1:1 scale kit. Not being a spark fan I'd rather have seen 1082 stay at Eveleigh, mind you it doesn't do much:

Actually I don't think this is the place for that last post - clearly the post is about good news for Rail preservation in NSW, whereas this thread is clearly here for a bunch of misfits to gloat over the DEMISE of NSW rail preservation - no room for positive stories here I'm afraid.

Bwana, personally it's probably the best place for a number of reasons.

Anyway, much Beer! is in order with such good news.
