I'm not sure if it does squeak when powering along. My explanation is that it's squeaking when heading down hill. I doubt the Coffee Pot has a Snifter, so when it does coast down hill without the regulator cracked open a bit, a vaccuum will be created in the cylinders that will suck in air through all sorts of places. Including the drain cocks if they're open. You're meant to crack the regulator when coasting down hill on locos without a snifter to avoid this vaccuum, but it's hard when it's a 1 in 60 with a fairly low speed restriction.
The problem with this vacuum being created is mainly because it sucks in air, including dirt and other shit. When this gets caught up in the cylinderes and steam chest, then it can score and create grooves for steam to leak past the valve rings. It also causes the oil and lubrication to carbonise and harden up.
Anyway, I'll endeavour to find out any more info, and whether or not it happens with its powering along (and a possible explanation if it does).

I took down those videos I put up because I got more then one PM from more then one person about potential copyright issues with the ABC and I am not in a position to potentially fight it out in court so I did what I considered the right thing to do and took them down.

The sad thing is, I actually went to the effort of adding and editing the videos at the end with a neat little disclaimer at the end stating the original source and the year of it's copyright. I thought that was all well and good until I was fucked around with 'copyright distribution'. Honestly, it sucks!
